Salem Aboghodieh- Running for Academic Director
I’m Salem Aboghodieh, a second-year JD/MBA student specializing in Finance and Real Estate & Infrastructure. Previously, I obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toronto where I was elected by my peers as VP Finance of the Athletic Council and Student Representative on the board of directors of the Student Union, managing $120,000 in funding and representing over 13,000 students. During my time as a student representative, I played an important role in reducing ancillary tuition fees, hiring a dietician on campus, and starting a female varsity volleyball team on campus. I was also involved in labour negotiations between the student union and the university administration, which eventually ended as a result of student leadership.
I take my job as a student seriously and will represent students to the fullest of my abilities. I will help students navigate their academic journeys and inform them about Schulich’s administrative procedures including academic appeals, grade appeals, and student complaints. As a JD/MBA student, I am fairly confident in my ability to formulate arguments and interpret the laws and by-laws of the Schulich School of Business and York University. I will also do my best to listen to students concerns and ensure that they have a positive academic experience during their time at Schulich. I ask that you kindly vote for me as your 2018-2019 Academic Director.
