Dean’s Cup 2018-2019

About the Dean’s Cup

The Dean’s Cup is an annual Case Competition that is open to all graduate-level Schulich Students. Participants will compete in four rounds of case competitions, which will take place during the academic school year.

Team Standings for the 2018/9 Dean’s Cup

Competition for the academic year 2019/20 will commence beginning in September 2019.

Registration Details
  • Each team will consist of no less than 4 members, and no more than 8 members
  • The designated Team Captain will register the team. Once the team has been registered, members are not allowed to switch teams or change the team name
  • Each team must compete in at least 1 of the 4 rounds in order to qualify
Presentation Guidelines
  • Presentation length: 10 minutes, followed by a 10-minute question & answer period
  • Dress code: business professional
  • Maximum number of presenters: 4
  • All presenters must arrive at least 10 minutes before their scheduled presentation time
  • Teams will be permitted to watch other teams’ presentations only after they have completed their own
  • If, due to any unforeseen circumstances, a selected team is not able to present for a given round, written notification must be sent to Catherine Melo ( no later than FOUR HOURS prior to your scheduled presentation time. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of the team from all rounds of Dean’s Cup and forfeiture of points
Slide Deck Guidelines
  • Internet research is prohibited, unless stated otherwise. You may use any relevant course materials/textbooks
  • Graphics other than tables & charts produced by Excel or PowerPoint are not allowed
  • Appendices outlining calculations/research are encouraged
Submission Rules & Instructions
  • Specific rules pertaining to the case will be distributed with the case via email
  • Team name & group members may only appear in the slide deck
  • Submission format: PPT or PDF only
  • File Name & Email Subject Line:  Team Name_Round #. [i.e.: ABC Consulting_Round 1]
  • Deadlines are final. The first submission is considered to be your final submission – no exceptions
  • All rounds will be hosted at the Schulich School of Business
  • Exact time/date/room # will be communicated by the Case Competitions Director to the Team Captain
The 2019/20 Champions will be announced at the year-end Graduate Gala in April of 2019. Winners will have their names engraved in the cup, which will be displayed in a trophy case outside of the GBC Office. Please contact Catherine Melo at for additional questions.
